Week Fourteen NASCAR Update ~ Dear God Danica You Suck!

Before I get into this week’s exciting NASCAR update I need to address the fatal accident that occurred at 12:10 this morning and claimed the lives of three Brunswick High School students while threatening the lives of two more.

Long story short… five teenagers are out and about on a Saturday night. The driver was speeding, the car became airborne after going through a railroad crossing and now three children are dead… two more critically injured.

I just talked to my neighbor about this tragedy and got pissed at him… he’s blaming the kids for being stupid and doesn’t seem to care. Ya know what George? They were stupid… Jeff Chaya, the driver, especially was. But to not care about Jeff, and his friends Blake & Lexi, dying is ludicrous George.

I knew Jeff’s parents from when my daughter played basketball against his twin sisters a few years ago. I can’t even imagine the pain they’re experiencing right now…

I’m sorry to those of you who believe, but today is one of those days that I question the existence of God. If you’re such a kind, caring God, why would you devastate this community by allowing something like this to happen? You’re a dick of a God…

OKAY! On to NASCAR which is supposed to be a diversion from stuff like this but did a poor job at it today.

Dover, Delaware aka “The Monster Mile” was the venue this weekend.

Oh yeah… here’s the track:

In Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, Austin Dillon qualified eleventh, ran a nice rice, and finished sixth. Austin’s little brother, Ty, made his Nationwide Series debut on Saturday. He qualified third and finished eighth! Not a bad day for the Dillon brothers!

Danica Patrick absolutely sucks…. at racing that is! She did her usual thing; hang around and not try to compete that much. I’ve gotta find data that shows how many cars she passes, from week to week, if it actually exists!

Danica lightly bumped Sam Hornish Jr. on lap 133 Saturday and then, for some reason, turned hard right into the wall, ending her race. It’s her third DNF (Did Not Finish) of the season and second in three weeks.

Joey Logano won the Nationwide Series race. His fourth win of the season! Unfortunately, because NASCAR drivers can only select one series to compete in, Joey wins no points for his wins as he’s set up to compete in the Sprint Cup series!

As far as the Sprint Cup Series goes…. great race I suppose! My dude, Carl Edwards was flying towards the lead when he cut a tire and hit the wall hard, taking him out of contention.

Dale Earnhardt qualified 17th, worked his way through the field and finished fourth. Good for him!

The driver I like the least, and actually wish failure to on a weekly basis, Jimmie Johnson, won today…

Numbers after week fourteen:

Starts Wins Top 5 Top 10 Avg. Start Avg. Finish
12 0 6 9 5.3 7.5

Starts Wins Top 5 Top 10 Avg. Start Avg. Finish
13 0 5 10 14.5 7.8

Danica (not pictured)…

Brooklyn will fill in for Danica, visually, until she can do something…

Starts Wins Top 5 Top 10 Avg. Start Avg. Finish
12 0 0 1 15.4 21
As far as NHRA drag racing goes, Courtney Force had a great day! She won the first two rounds, of four! She’s gonna win a race this year, I guarantee it! Hopefully it’s soon, but I hope more that she wins when I’m there in July, at Summit Motorsports Park!
