Monday Moanin’ ~ Week Twelve ~ Browns WIN! 20 ~ 14 Over Pittsburgh!!!

I didn’t get to watch the game yesterday, as the girlies and I were driving home from Pennsylvania after our second Thanksgiving… Oh what a blast that was! I’m thinkin’ about writing about it but I gotta talk about the game here first.

I was able to find the game on the radio, but was forced to listen to a Pittsburgh station with shitty Pittsburgh commentators. Holy crap were those dudes a couple of crybabies!

They gave the Browns defense NO credit at all for kicking the shit out of the Steelers, but instead said they were giving us the game. I’m talking about the turnovers. They didn’t give us the ball…. we freakin’ took it! Our defense caused 8 fumbles yesterday, five of which we recovered! Hell, TJ Ward practically broke Pittsburg RB Jonathan Dwyer in half, causing him to fumble!

Speaking of running the ball… Prior to yesterday’s game, Pittsburgh averaged almost 107 rushing yards a game. The Cleveland Browns defense held that rushing attack to 49 yards.

We also intercepted Charlie Batch three times! And ya know what? I don’t wanna hear about that rapist Ben Roethlisberger not playing yesterday. Pittsburgh has beat Cleveland time and time again over the years while our QBs were decimated by injury. So suck it Pittsburgh! Charlie Batch is a 15 year veteran and we… OUR DEFENSE… made him look like an idiot!

Today I heard a lot of local and national media (and stupid fans) saying that if the Steelers turned the ball over 8 times, the Browns should’ve scored a lot more. I do not disagree with that, but you gotta look at the numbers. Pittsburgh DID turn the ball over 8 times, but three of those turnovers were in the last few minutes of the game. Cleveland was attempting to run the clock down after two of those turnovers and the last turnover by PIT was the last play of the game.

There were, technically, five PIT turnovers in which the Browns had a chance to score. They scored on three of those drives for 17 points.

That’s not bad at all!

It’s our offense that sucks really bad. We only scored a field goal on offense when it wasn’t a turnover.

I blame that on our inept head coach, Pat Shurmer. Stupid penalties that kill drives? That’s coaching. Calling plays that put QB Weeden under center instead of spreading the field from the shotgun? That’s terrible play calling by the coaching staff.

There are Cleveland fans who think that ROOKIE QB Weeden should be benched because he threw an interception yesterday… Ya wanna know how many QBs, of the 30 who played up until yesterday, threw picks? TWENTY TWO. 22 of them threw to the other team! Of the eight QBs who didn’t throw interceptions, only four of ’em won their games! So let’s quit picking on QB1, alright? He’s a rookie, dammit! Colt McCoy will never be the answer…

As for the Cleveland running game…. Prior to yesterday’s game, Pittsburgh allowed just under 90 yards a game. We rushed for 108 yards, 85 of them from future Hall of Fame RB Trent Richardson!

Cleveland’s on the right track to become a contender. Be patient Browns fans!
