I haven’t watched a NASCAR truck race in years. To me at least, the series has become irrelevant. Well… NASCAR found a way to suck me in and get me to watch a truck race.
The series came to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH last night… This joint:
That’s right folks… Eldora is a DIRT TRACK! None of NASCAR’s top three series have raced on dirt since 1970!
It was a fascinating race! The drivers really had to drive the trucks; they steered right into the left hand turns because the trucks were so gosh darn sideways!
Check it out!
Honestly, I fell asleep watching the race but my boy, Austin Dillon, eventually won it! He’s got some serious skills to win, considering that there were some dirt track racers subbing in last night for other teams…
Look for Austin to be driving the black #3 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing when he moves up to the top tier series. For those of you who don’t know, that car has not been on the track, in Sprint Cup, since Dale Earnhardt died in it on February 18th, 2001…
Speaking of Sprint Cup, I would love, love, LOVE to see them race on a dirt track. Unfortunately, there’s not a dirt venue that can support that series and the fans and media that come with it. Yet.
